Alcobaça, Pombal, Leiria and Caldas da Rainha have more than 100 recoveries – Region of Leiria

For the second day in a row, the number of confirmed recoveries in the Leiria region is higher than the new confirmed cases of infection. this difference reduces the total number of active cases to 1,637, ie 36 fewer patients.

In the past 24 hours, 107 people have overcome the infection in five counties in the region. Alcobaça had the highest percentage, with 41 cases, followed by Pombal with 28, Caldas da Rainha with 19 and Leiria with 18. In Marinha Grande, one patient recovered from contagion.

Despite the recoveries, there is still one death to mourn in the municipality of Leiria. There are now 31 people who have died in the county which has been the district capital since the start of the pandemic.

Regarding new infections (72), Leiria and Caldas da Rainha are the ones with the most cases, with 21 and 20 positive tests respectively.

There are 51 other positive cases which break down as follows: Pombal with seven, Marinha Grande and Alcobaça with six each, Óbidos with four, Porto de Mós and Peniche with three each and Batalha with two others.

The region of Leiria (district of Leiria and municipality of Ourém) has, since the beginning of March, a total of 6,248 confirmed cases of Covid-19, of which 4,490 have recovered. 121 people lost their lives, with causes associated with the new coronavirus. 1,637 others are recovering from the disease in isolation, accompanied by health authorities.
