The district of Leiria will be back tomorrow, Wednesday, under yellow warning due to deteriorating weather conditions, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).
The alert is in effect between 0 and 6 a.m. on the 16th, due to persistent and “sometimes heavy” rain, the IPMA said on its website.
In the same period, there will still be strong wind, with gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour, on the coast and in the highlands.
From 6 p.m. on Tuesday 15, the district is under yellow warning due to the sea turmoil.
Until 9 p.m. Wednesday, the waves will be in the west / southwest direction, reaching 4 to 5 meters, and gradually shift to the northwest waves.

The National Maritime Authority (AMN) and the Navy issued a joint statement on Monday 14th warning against worsening weather conditions and maritime unrest from today until noon Thursday 17th.
The authorities explain that the ripple “can reach 5 meters in significant height and 9 meters in maximum height, with an average duration varying between 13 and 15 seconds”.
Thus, they call on the maritime community and the population in general to have “a state of permanent surveillance at sea and in coastal areas”.
“You have to be extra careful, both in preparing for a trip at sea, and when they are at sea or in coastal areas”, they add.
The AMN and the Navy recommend, in particular in the coastal regions of the north and the center of the country, “to avoid walks by the sea, where the protective jetties of the port stand out” and “to avoid walks along the coast, in the cliffs and in the beaches, as well as the practice of recreational activities in the zones prone to the marine disturbances ”.
Recreational fishing is also “strongly discouraged”, particularly near cliffs and cliff areas on coastal fronts affected by waves.https://thetrustedchronicle.com/
