The wear and tear of the buildings and some bad weather are forcing the Agromuseu Municipal Dona Julinha, in Ortigosa, in Leiria, to close in the coming months, due to rehabilitation works.
The repair of the roofs and the rehabilitation of the building are the main interventions and, therefore, access to visits or activities will be conditioned.

La Câmara de Leiria advances, in a press release, that the contract represents an investment of 170 thousand euros, plus VAT, and that the work should be completed on February 15, 2021.
In addition to the rehabilitation interventions, there will also be an adaptation of buildings and annexes, in order to “create better visitation conditions and improve the conditions of animals living in space”.
The “passage of time and some bad weather” are, according to the municipality, the cause of the wear and tear of the agromuseum.
