The new Nazaré health center, an investment of 1.4 million euros, expected for more than three decades, will begin to operate on the 28th, the town hall announced on Friday 18th.
“The keys to the building were handed over today, symbolically, to the Grouping of Health Centers (Aces) Oeste Norte and the Chamber was guaranteed that the new building will open its doors on the 28th,” the president told Lusa. from the House of Nazaré, Walter Chicharro.
The handing over of the keys means the end of the contract for the construction of the new health center of Nazaré, in the district of Leiria, which will replace “a prefabricated building where the health center has been operating temporarily for 36 years”, recalled the mayor.
During the next week, the building will be “equipped with computer equipment and the data will be transferred remotely by the health services,” said Walter Chicharro, adding that he has the guarantee that “on the 28th the center will open at all active services ”.
Among the novelties, “a dentist’s office, endowed with human and material resources, which will serve the population of the whole municipality”, explained the president.

In the premises of the Confraria de Nossa Senhora da Nazaré, where the health center was operating temporarily, while the work continued, only the permanent service will be maintained.
The Nazaré health center is the result of an investment of 1.4 million euros supported by the Regional Health Administration of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and around 350,000 by the municipality.
The Nazareth Family Health Units (USF) and USF Global will operate in the building, along with the services of the Shared Assistance Resource Unit (URAP), Community Care Unit (CCU) and public health unit (USP).
