With more recoveries confirmed in the Leiria region since yesterday, the number of active cases of Covid-19 infection is declining today to 1,673 (17 fewer than yesterday), but it is the total number of deaths that emerges this Saturday.
With the update of the cases of Covid-19 in the commune of Ourém and in the communes of ACES Pinhal Interior, the number of deaths has risen to 120. Ten additional people have died in the last hours, with causes linked to the infection, bringing the total to 120 deaths in the region of Leiria (district of Leiria and municipality of Ourém), since March.
Ourém has four other deaths, a total of 10 since the start of the pandemic, and Ansião confirms four deaths, a situation that had not yet occurred in the municipality. Leiria and Pombal each have one additional death associated with the new coronavirus, with 30 and 22 confirmed deaths respectively, and remain the municipalities with the most confirmed deaths.
Of the 142 recoveries confirmed by health authorities in the Leiria region since yesterday, Ourém is the “leader”, with 56 people overcoming the disease, followed by Peniche, with 36 “exits”.
To complete the 142 recoveries compared to yesterday, Friday, we must also count the 13 recoveries of Leiria, 11 in Nazaré, six in Ansião, five in Pombal, four in Bombarral, three in Alvaiázere, two in Figueiró dos Vinhos, two in Porto de Mós. Óbidos, Marinha Grande, Alcobaça and Castanheira de Pera each recorded one recovery.
New infections confirmed in the past 24 hours outnumber recoveries, 135, with Leiria again in the lead, with 45 positive cases.
Yesterday, two new epidemics were known in the region. One in Leiria hospital, in the internal medicine department, identified on November 24 and which caused 16 professionals and 19 users to be infected, of which four users died and one was discharged from the hospital.

The second epidemic is concentrated in the União de Leiria SAD team, where 10 players and two staff members are infected, but asymptomatic or with mild symptoms.
There are still new cases in Ourém (33), Pombal (13), Marinha Grande (10), Peniche (6), Alcobaça (5), Castanheira de Pera (5), Batalha, Porto de Mós and Óbidos, with four each, Bombarral with 2 and Figueiró dos Vinhos with a new positive test.
Of the 6,176 positive cases confirmed in the region by health authorities, 4,383 have recovered from the disease and 120 have died. The remaining 1,673 people remain isolated and are being monitored by the health authorities.

Portugal with 73 more deaths and 6,087 cases in 24 hours
Today, Portugal has 73 additional deaths linked to covid-19 and 6,087 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus, according to the Directorate General of Health (DGS).
Since the start of the pandemic, Portugal has recorded 4,876 deaths and 318,640 cases of infection with the new coronavirus, with 73,561 cases now active, 151 fewer than on Thursday.
Regarding hospitalizations, the epidemiological bulletin of the DGS reveals that 3,229 patients are hospitalized, 66 less than the day before, including 517 in intensive care, nine less compared to Friday.
