A dozen neighborhoods will start today and until Sunday under yellow warning because of the rain and the sea, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA). Leiria is one of the cases on alert due to waves of up to five meters in height.
According to information released today by IPMA, the yellow warning due to the rain, which will sometimes be violent, will be in effect in the districts of Viseu, Porto, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro and Braga from from 6 p.m. today and until 3 a.m. on Saturday.
Already under yellow warning due to the agitation of the sea, with northwest waves of up to five meters, the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria, Lisbon, Setúbal, Beja and Faro will be on weekends. (Western coast).
In the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria and Lisbon, the warning is between 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
In the districts of Setúbal, Beja and Beja, the notice will be in effect between asc06: 00 on Saturday and 9 on Sunday.

IPMA warnings vary between red (most severe), orange, and yellow. The latter means that there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the meteorological situation and that the population must follow the evolution of the meteorological conditions.
IPMA is forecasting precipitation today in the Northern and Central regions, particularly on the Minho and Douro coasts from the afternoon. The wind will be more intense in the highlands and on the west coast and there will be fog or morning fog.
