Leiria is under yellow warning due to the sea turmoil – Leiria region


Today, Leiria is on yellow alert due to forecasts of sea waves, northwest waves of 4 to 5 meters, according to IPMA.

The notice runs between 6 p.m. today, Monday, and tomorrow Tuesday. Besides Leiria, the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra and Lisbon will also be under the same warning.

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has also issued a yellow warning for the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Vila Real, Aveiro, Coimbra, Viseu, Guarda and Castelo Branco due to the strong wind forecast from the western quadrant, with gusts up to 70 kilometers per hour on the coast and up to 100 kilometers per hour in the highlands between 12 p.m. today and 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The yellow warning is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
