Leiria municipality records three more deaths and region 110 new cases – Leiria region

The number of deaths continues to rise in Leiria, with three more deaths recorded for people infected with the new coronavirus. The total number of deaths is 43 in the municipality of Leiria and 145 in the region (district of Leiria and municipality of Ourém).

Data released this Friday by local health authorities also indicates 110 new cases of infection, bringing to 6,737 cases diagnosed since the start of the pandemic.

Leiria has registered 36 more cases since yesterday, followed by Caldas da Rainha (with 21 more), Peniche (13), Marinha Grande and Pombal (10 each), Porto de Mós (8 each), Alcobaça (5), Batalha ( 3), Bombarral and Óbidos (2 each).

Healings are overcoming the new cases again, with 153 patients cured in the past 24 hours, most of whom in Leiria and Ourém accounted for 49 and 48 recoveries, respectively.

Today, Alcobaça has 18 other recovered patients, Porto de Mós 15 more, Pombal plus 11, Batalha plus six, Marinha Grande plus five and Peniche plus one.

With 5,170 recoveries reported to date, the total of active cases is down to 1,422 (46 fewer than yesterday, Thursday).
