The President of the Republic visited, last Friday, the café A Brasileira, in Lisbon, and returned home with 18 copies of regional newspapers from all over the country, including the latest edition of the REGION OF LEIRIA.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa’s “unexpected” stop in this historic café in Chiado for a meal also served to present Brazil’s new project, “bringing the country to Lisbon, through regional newspapers”.
REGION OF LEIRIA is one of the 18 regional publications for sale in this space in Chiado, Lisbon.
“The president was very surprised and wanted to know more. He spoke to Miguel, our colleague who enthusiastically manages the kiosk and who had the opportunity to explain to him that our goal is to bring the country to Lisbon, to bring people closer to their roots and to promote a feeling proximity, ”A Brasileira said in a report.

For having considered “a good idea”, because the regional newspapers need this support and the “action is very important for the country”, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa not only visited the kiosk, but bought a copy of every newspaper that is for sale there. It took a total of 18 posts.
The sale of regional newspapers aims to make those who visit the café feel “even closer to home”, with regional newspapers being a means of helping them to trace their origins.
But more: since November, the A Brasileira kiosk has only had regional newspapers, betting on the dissemination of local journalism.https://thetrustedchronicle.com/
