A ticket in exchange for a food or a hygiene product is the proposal of the Municipality of Leiria for participation in workshops and shows scheduled for the weekend.
From circus to dance, through theater, cinema and music, in the various cultural spaces of the town, several options are available to those looking for a different program while helping the most disadvantaged.
The program begins on Saturday morning, the 12th, at the Teatro José Lúcio da Silva, with the show “Solstício” from the National Institute of Circus Arts, at 11 am. The show repeats at 3 p.m.
Banco de Artes Galeria opens its doors at 10 am for the dance performance “In the eyes of Mary” by Inesa Markava.
In the afternoon, the Caosarte group presents “Music at any time”, at 4 pm, in the church of São Pedro. End of the day is the time for the Cineteatro de Monte Real to host the show “Volt’A Portugal em Revista”, at 19:30.
There is also a program dedicated to the youngest, on Saturdays, with the staging of “O Principezinho” by the group O Nariz at 10 am and 11:30 am at the mimo – museum of the moving image. At 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. the group Manipulartes takes the stage with “Mani e Pula”.
“The gift of the big bad wolf” is the suggestion of the municipal library of Afonso Lopes Vieira, at 3 pm and 4.30 pm.
On Sunday and thinking about the Christmas season, it’s time to learn how to make Christmas wreaths, in Moinho do Papel, with Sílvia Bernardino, before 10 a.m.

Santa’s train visits the parishes of Leiria
Accompanied by the music of the local philharmonic orchestras, Father Christmas from Leiria will pass by several parishes in the municipality of Leiria throughout the weekend.
On Saturday 12 the train will pass through the towns of Chãs, Regueira de Pontes, Matoeira, Lameira, Riba de Aves, Ortigosa, Conqueiros, Moita da Roda, Souto da Carpalhosa and Carreira, to the sound of the Musical Artistic Society of Pousos (SAMP) .
On Sunday, it’s the turn of Santa’s train to pass through Bidoeira de Baixo, Carriço, Bidoeira de Cima, Bajouca, Monte Redondo, Coimbrão and Pedrogão. The music will be in charge of the Artistic and Musical Society of Bajouca.
