The Sanctuary of Fátima resumes the full official program on weekends, with all afternoon Masses returning to the Basilica of the Holy Trinity on 12, 13, 19 and 20, after the suspension due to the pandemic .

“During the next two weekends before Christmas – the third and fourth Sundays in Advent – the Sanctuary of Fátima will resume the six celebrations which during the last four weekends have been suspended due to the compulsory curfew to which Fátima was submissive within the state. urgency ”, read in information available on its“ website ”.

Thus, on the weekends of December 12 and 13 and December 19 and 20, pilgrims will already be able to participate in Mass at 12:30 p.m. in Capelinha das Aparições, where at 2 p.m., “Saturday and Sunday there will also be an hour of repair. “.

“Masses at 3:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. also return in the Basilica of the Holy Trinity and the prayer of vespers on Sundays at 5:30 p.m. in the Basilica of Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Fátima. Also on Saturday evening, after the 9:30 pm Rosary, there will be a candlelight procession, ”adds the institution.

The shrine says that on the 13th “the apparitions are remembered and, for this reason, the official program of the monthly pilgrimage in December begins at 10 am, with the third at Capelinha das Aparições, followed by mass, at 11 am, in the Basilica of the Holy Trinity ”.

“As it is the third Sunday of Advent, called Domingo da Alegria, there will be a symbolic moment of blessing with the images of the Child Jesus, which are placed in the nativity scenes at home”, informs the institution, referring that “this Sunday the Gestual Portuguesa linguistic interpreter team will return to the 3 pm Mass, as usual in the official program of the Sanctuary of Fátima, since 2013”.

In addition to the full celebration program, the museum spaces will also be open, namely the new exhibition “Faces of Fátima: Faces of a Spiritual Landscape”, which can be visited between 9 am and 6 pm on the lower level of the Basilica of the Holy Trinity.
