The Polytechnic of Leiria has just launched a Christmas solidarity game on aging to support private social solidarity institutions (IPSS), by raising funds from the community, the institution announced.
Thanks to the “spin off” AGILidades, the Polytechnic of Leiria has launched “Minutos Emblemáticos”, a quiz with “curiosities related to aging, stories and wishes for those who dream of growing old”, indicates a press release from the higher education institution published on Tuesday 15.
The game, which aims to prepare families early for the aging process, includes a board that closes in the form of a package and which, inside, has 20 thematic challenges on “gerontophobia”, “hope. average living “and” the old friend town “, in addition to a Christmas surprise.
For each game sold, which costs 8.99 euros, two euros go to the IPSS.
The amount collected will be given in the form of a donation to Leiria’s Social Security, which will be responsible for managing the funds.

“This Christmas, and given the current circumstances in which we live, AGILidades” has decided to create a solidarity campaign, in order to support IPSS, in such a special time for families, and that this year will be marked by the isolation of the elderly ”, explain the promoters of the solidarity campaign, mentioned in the press release.
AGILidades is a “ spin off ” of the Polytechnic of Leiria, created in 2008, which aims to develop therapeutic games adapted to the most diverse ages and conditions, for the rehabilitation of people suffering from psychomotor or cognitive-motor dysfunction. , useful in the rehabilitation process.
According to the press release, the brand also aims to provide technical consultancy services on the design and development testing of new products in this field.
Among the most recent projects, we are highlighting the customization of games, the development of games for teaching caregivers of people with dementia, as well as the validation of a manual of traditional games adapted to populations at risk.
